Actor Griffin O'Neal Arrested for DUI - Drugs

Last Thursday, Griffin O'Neal entered a plea of not guilty to drug related DUI charges as well as possession of cocaine and firearm charges in a California court. Griffin, 46 years old, is the brother of actress Tatum O'Neal and son of Love Story actor Ryan O'Neal. Tatum has publicly struggled with drug addiction and had brushes with the law herself in recent years concerning drug possession. She is the youngest Oscar winner in the ceremony's history for her performance in the file Paper Moon in which her father Ryan co-starred. Ryan was in a long term relationship with actress Farrah Fawcett that produced a son, Redmond O'Neal. Redmond was arrested on the same day as Griffin on a drug possession charge in an unrelated incident.

According to sources, Griffin O'Neal was driving on August 2, 2011 when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head on. The other driver sustained injuries to his head and back. DUI officers responding to the scene took a blood sample and O'Neal was found to have ingested a variety of drugs including marijuana, Xanax, and cocaine. In addition, crack cocaine and loaded guns were found in his car by the arresting officers.

Had this event occured in Atlanta, GA, Griffin would likely be facing felony charges in Fulton County Superior Court for drug possession and DUI with a serious accident and injuries.
